 The New GPS 05

The new GPS05 from Aim is the replacement for the GPS module, and is an even more simple install than the previous version. The complete GPS05 resembles the antenna from the previous system, and is a one piece unit. So it's just a matter of fitting the module in a prominant position on the vehicle and pluggng it directly into a CAN connection on your Aim system.

 

To give the new GPS05 the toughest test possible we attached one to the most destructive vehicles to electronics we know of, a 100cc racing kart. If there are likely to be issues with new equipment then a kart will discover them due to the total lack of insulation from vibration that a kart provides. And our first outing proved a complete success, with the new module supplying beautifully consistent data.

Three laps are over-laid here so you can see how closely the racing lines overlap giving us a great deal of confidence as to the accuracy of the data.
